It all comes together for Our Maine Street Magazine

Lewiston, ME - When Pat Wheeler of Penmor Lithographers in Lewiston, Maine originally contacted Craig Cormier, a Graphic Designer in Fort Fairfield, in December of 2008, they discussed his idea of an exciting new magazine reflecting life in northern Maine. Cormier said that, "Aroostook County needed a magazine that would help promote growth in the area".

Today, Our Maine Street Magazine is the only full color publication of its kind in Fort Fairfield, focusing on the culture of Aroostook County. Its content is derived solely from local writers, artists and organizations, depicting home grown content with full color images.

Our Maine Street is a family-owned business. Cormier, along with his parents and sister, toured Penmor in May of 2009. At that time, they witnessed Penmor's modern printing technology and capabilities. They were especially impressed with the user-friendly file upload service, color-calibrated presses, and Penmor's reputation for high quality. Convinced that Penmor would ultimately help make their magazine dream become a reality, they made the decision to move forward with the production of their magazine.

Cormier collaborated with the Penmor team prior to the production process, and was able to send test files for them to review his preliminary drafts and make recommendations. These test-spreads alleviated any file issues prior to the proofing process. "Due to the wonderful pre-press department, we have never experienced any color or layout issues - resulting in a high-quality product", said Cormier.

Cormier and family arrived on press for their first issue and were thrilled with the vibrant colors as they watched their magazine come to life. The first issue was a perfect bound, 80-page plus 4-page cover magazine, filled with beautiful photography spreads.  They picked up their magazines in ample time to be on the newsstands by July 1st. While at Penmor, they placed ten magazines into a wooden display box, made by the Amish for distribution in local businesses... this appeared to be the perfect display!

When they returned home, they sponsored a gala event, celebrating the birth of their county's first full-color magazine. The event sparked so much interest; the Cormier's were interviewed on the news shortly thereafter. The process was successful for the Cormier's and they have become a loyal Penmor customer. Since their first issue, Penmor has printed five more magazines and they are now being distributed in 22 states!

Pat Wheeler says, "It's nice to have acquired a great client... and be able to witness the growth of such a great magazine - Our Maine Street Magazine has enhanced the pride of Aroostook County"!
